Laboratory wastewater quality monitoring

According to relevant national regulations and standards, laboratory wastewater discharge should meet the following requirements:

1. Suspended solids: Suspended solids refer to solid particles in wastewater, generally less than 30 milligrams per liter;

2. Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD): COD is an indicator that reflects the organic matter content in wastewater, and the effluent COD should be less than 100 milligrams per liter;

3. Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD): BOD is an indicator reflecting the ability of organic matter in wastewater to be degraded by microorganisms, and the effluent BOD should be less than 50 milligrams per liter;

4. pH value: The pH value of the effluent should be between 6-9;

5. Total phosphorus and total nitrogen: The concentration of total phosphorus and total nitrogen in the effluent should be less than 0.5 mg/L and 10 mg/L, respectively;

6. Heavy metals: The concentration of heavy metals in wastewater should be lower than the national discharge standards.

7. Total number of bacteria: The total number of bacteria in wastewater should be less than 100 per ml.

8. Coliform group: The coliform group in wastewater should be less than 3/L.
