Almightier ®- TOX Biotoxicity Analyzer
A detection system using luminescent bacteria revived from freeze-dried powder as biosensors. Luminescent bacteria emit light during metabolism, and if the metabolic process is affected, it can lead to changes in luminescence intensity. Toxic substances in water samples can inhibit metabolic processes, and the toxicity of water quality can be evaluated by measuring the decrease in luminescence intensity after contact between luminescent bacteria and water samples. This method is applicable to the determination of surface water, industrial wastewater, and domestic sewage.

The Almightier Tox online warning system and luminescent bacteria comprehensive toxicity detection technology are toxicity detection technologies based on bacterial luminescent biosensing methods, which can effectively detect sudden or destructive environmental pollution. The luminescence process of luminescent bacteria is a metabolic physiological process within the bacterial body, which is a photorespiration process and a lateral branch on the respiratory chain. The wavelength of this light is around 490nm. This luminescence process is highly susceptible to external conditions, and any factors that interfere or damage bacterial respiration or physiological processes can cause changes in bacterial luminescence intensity. When toxic and harmful substances come into contact with luminescent bacteria, the toxic substances in the water sample will affect the metabolism of luminescent bacteria, and the decrease in luminescence intensity is directly proportional to the concentration of toxic substances in the sample.

The online biological toxicity tester for water quality can detect the content of organic and inorganic chemical toxic substances in surface water, groundwater, untreated water, and treated water, with a detection concentration reaching ppb level. It can also be used for monitoring the effluent of recycled water. It can determine many toxic substances present in water, including pesticides, herbicides, PCBs, PAHs, heavy metals, biotoxins, petroleum pollutants, protein inhibitors, and respiratory system inhibitors. When the concentration of these toxic substances in water reaches sub ppm, the instrument will sound an alarm.
